South Carolina Annual Conference & Dr. Walter McKelvey Endowed Scholarship Fund

Gammon launched a New Matching Fund Endowed Scholarship Campaign in partnership with Dr. Loretta F. McKelvey and the South Carolina Methodist Foundation. A generous donor has pledged to match every gift given to this scholarship fund – up to $50,000.  With your help, we can meet this match and raise $100,000 to provide scholarships to educate and equip future church leaders to make disciples of all nations.

On June 6, 2023, the inaugural Dr. Walter McKelvey Sr. Scholarship Fund banquet was held by Gammon at the South Carolina Annual Conference. The event was well attended, with Reverend Telley Gadsen setting a reverent tone with an opening prayer. Bishop L. Jonathan Holston further warmed the atmosphere with his welcoming greeting.

Dr. Walter Kimbrough and Dr. Loretta F. McKelvey extended their greetings and heartfelt sentiments by video. Dr. McKelvey also invited attendees to invest in the newly endowed scholarship fund. The generosity of those in attendance was evident, as we raised $4,000 during this memorable event.

Thank you to our Gammon Trustees and Alumni for their tremendous support of this event.
