Rev. Keith Lawder, a Gammon Trustee and member of Dunwoody First United Methodist Church (DFUMC), invited Rev. Dr. Candace M. Lewis to speak at his Sunday School class about the history of Gammon Theological Seminary. The goal is to foster a long-term partnership.
The account of Dr. Gammon and the rise of Black clergy leadership in the South captivated the class, sparking a keen interest in learning more about the seminary’s origins. The attendees were thoroughly engaged and enlightened by Dr. Lewis’s presentation. Following the class, Dr. Lewis and Amelia Tucker-Shaw, her Executive Administrator, attended a spirit-filled, “traditional” worship service. The Gammon Theological Seminary’s President, Dean, and Administrator were warmly welcomed by all, receiving heartfelt Christian affection and an invitation for future visits.
If you’re interested in having the history of Gammon Theological Seminary shared with your church, please reach out to Dr. Candace M. Lewis at deanclewis@gammon-itc.org, and include Amelia Tucker-Shaw in your communication at execasst.atuckershaw@gammon-itc.org.
